The system of Bok-Fu-Do (White Tiger) was founded by Grand Master Richard Lee in 1967. Its roots can be traced back as far as 2500 years to the beginning of Chinese Martial Arts. Bok-Fu-Do encompasses the most effective and devastating methods of self-defense known to man. Grand Master Lee has probably done more traveling in his research of the various martial arts styles than anybody in the history of martial arts in America.

In 1972, while studying in the Republic of China, Grand Master Lee was asked to coach the U.S. National Team for the first World Kung Fu (Kuoshu) Championships held in the Republic of China in 1975. He is now credited in the Global Who’s Who as the first American to introduce the sport aspect of Kung-Fu into the U.S.. The team placed first in the foreign team division. It was at that point that the recognition of his life’s work (Bok-Fu-Do) began to take form.

In 1994, the system of Bok-Fu-Do was internationally recognized in one of the most impressive Black Belt presentations in the history of marital arts in America. Grand Master Al Tracy presented Grand Master Lee with a 10th degree Black Belt in Chinese Kenpo. Those present included General Chen, General Wu, Grand Master Huang, Masters and Grand Masters from all over the world, including some of Grand Master Lee’s top students and distinguished guests.
